I am proud to be part of the Adventure Babies team and bringing these award-winning story and sensory baby classes to Dorset and South Somerset. With over 10 years experience as a primary school teacher, I have seen time and time again the love and enjoyment that children get from sharing a book as well as developing their language and communication skills.

Hi, I’m Ali and I’m proud to be bringing the award-winning Adventure Babies classes to the South Somerset and Dorset area.
A bit about me
I live with my husband, two young boys and miniature Dachshund in Somerset. I was a primary school teacher for over 10 years, but after having my second baby, I felt the time was right to take the plunge and embark on a new venture!
As a teacher, I saw first-hand again and again the enjoyment that children get from a book, as well as the impact it has on their language and communication skills. My favourite part of the school day was sharing the ‘class reader’, and I was always amazed that despite the dominance of technology in children’s lives, something as simple as a good book had the power to completely capture their imagination and transport them to a different reality.
Sharing stories is also an important part of our family life. Snuggling up with a book before bedtime is the best part of the day despite the fact neither of my two are old enough to actually read the words yet. That doesn’t stop my eldest correcting me if I’ve dared to change the words slightly and he can often be found looking at the pictures in a book and telling himself the story from memory!
When on maternity leave, I attended Adventure Babies classes with both my boys, and I loved the concept of familiar stories being brought to life through expressive storytelling, props, songs and messy play! I also found that the sessions were inclusive and welcoming; they provide a safe space for parents and carers to meet others, share tips, get advice, have fun and share in the excitement of little ones’ first years.
I can’t wait to get started, and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon and taking you and your little ones on some exciting adventures.
